The Commonwealth Office of Hearing Services allows those eligible to receive many hearing related services at no cost.

These services include;

  • FREE hearing assessments
  • FREE basic digital hearing aids, or
  • SUBSIDISED advanced digital hearing aids
  • FREE hearing rehabilitation consultations
  • SUBSIDISED hearing aid maintenance and batteries

Who is eligible for these FREE or subsidised services?

People are eligible if they are an Australian citizens or permanent residents, over 21 years of age, and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Holder of a Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card
  • Gold Health Repatriation Card holder
  • White Health Repatriation Card holder (specifying hearing loss)
  • Centrelink Sickness Allowance
  • Dependants of a person who is an active member of the Defence Force.
  • Dependants of a client of CRS Australia (formerly known as Commonwealth Rehabilitation Services) referred by their case manager and attending doctor
